September is almost half gone, can’t believe how time compresses when you are busy busy busy. Hurricane Irene dumped 7″ of rain on us at the end of August but did not bring any wind. Our creek swelled massively and we lost 1′-2′ feet of bank near our house and the creek jumped the culvert at the road and washed it away, or rather turned it into the creek bed and left a bunch of rocks behind as well as carved a 3′ foot cliff at the end of our access. It also left a bunch of gravel there and Matt, our neighbor came over with a shovel and we repaired it and it is now better than new! As for the road, 2 weeks of travel has smoothed it out and Wayne from down the road brought his excavator up and dredged our creek and re-built the road over the culvert so we got away way better than the rest of Vermont.
