7 chicks and 3 turkey chicks live in a wading pool in our house. They started escaping so we rimmed the pool with thermarest pads to make an impenetrable wall. They chirp us to sleep and are adorably cute, our future egg makers and Thanksgiving dinners! we LOVE them!
Last week in Boston I went and saw a musical based on Alanis Morrisette’s Jagged Little Pill Album. It was okay. Tried to cram to many hot button issues into 2 hours; #MeToo, #BlackLivesMatter, the Opioid Crisis, the Trans movement as well as skewering the suburban nuclear family. I thought it would be more about the life a 20something woman. The dancing was good but the songs came off as isolated music videos. Hamilton has set the bar real high! I do love the American Rep theater in Cambridge. I used to see plays there when I was at BU.
This is our favorite scene in High School Musical 2! Combines 2 things I love, musical numbers, dance and baseball. I guess that’s 3 things I love! We started watching the High School Musical Trilogy because we loved Zac Efron in The Greatest Showman (Our favorite movie of the year so far) and wanted to see a young Zac Efron sing and dance!
Construction Update:
I have finished the 2rd floor walls and except for trim and a few gaps in the transition between walls and ceiling the 3rd floor is complete. Once the stairs are done I need to build a railing next to the stairwell.
Then of course I need to put in the doors but I classify that under trim.
I then sided up the 3 walls that make up the stairwell.
Next up was the stairs. I need two landings. The 2nd landing is about 56″ above the floor and includes 2 winder steps to make the 90 degree turn to the left for the final 4 steps to the 2nd floor.
The 1st landing consists of 2 step/drawers each 8″ high. I made 2 boxes; the first 32″ x 40″ and the 2nd which goes on top of it 32″ x 32″. I bought drawer sliders and installed them on the inside before putting the tops on and then made drawers out of 1″x 8″x 8’s.
The winder stairs were made the same way, 8″ boxes but no drawers just open on the backside to make shelves on the underside of the stairs. This job took me all of Monday leaving me no time to make the rails. That will be my Friday project!
