Colleen and I went down to Boston on Saturday to see Van Morrison at the Ledger Bank Pavilion on the Harbor front. Same venue we saw him at four years ago. We spent the night at our friend Liz’s house in Cambridge and took the T to Park Street where we rented BlueBikes and rode across the channel to the venue which is in the midst of a 21st century makeover. When I was in college this area was decrepit; rotting warehouses and pier pilings but is now full of gleaming office towers and apartment high rises.
Van Morrison was in fine form. From the opening song he let his band jam out and he poured himself into his harmonica. I was hoping the soulful Van would show up and he did. They played 20 songs and the highlights where the opener “Dangerous” from his latest album, “Dweller on the Threshold” and the raucous closer “Gloria” which had the audience echoing Van’s vocal stylings.

Ambiana and Erika drove down to Boston as well and stayed with us. They just wanted to road trip and went to visit Maple at Wellesley and then to a music festival in Randolph VT
Ambiana’s 1st Cross-Country Race
Ambiana ran her 1st ever cross country race Saturday morning. She came in 29th out of 83 in the JV race with a time of 26:24.
