2026 Corn Maze

Colleen returned from Greece late Sunday night and on Monday was at the corn maze with Jakobi, Rowan and me. It was the last day it was open and we were some of the last people to enter the maze.

It was a tricky one, i filled up my tracking sheet and had to use some boxes twice to track our progress. The maze was made up of circles and it seemed like all we did for the first hour and a half was to walk in circles. Jakobi and Rowan split off from us several times but we kept running back into them. It took Colleen and me 90 minutes to get out of the first part of the maze and Jakobi and Rowan a half hour more,

There were two bells of frustration this year in the maze as it was surely one of their most frustrating mazes.

C is for Colleen!

A is for Ambiana who didn’t join us this year though we did see her before we set off as she returned Colleen’s car and then biked off to Montpelier to catch the bus back to Burlington for class at UVM

We were confident we would make it out of the maze before Jakobi and Rowan…

…only to encounter them again in the 3rd part of the maze.

We acquieseced and took a simple clue which only told us to head out of the picnic are on the purple path and we found ourselves at the bridge to the 4th and final part of the maze.

From there it was only a few minutes before we solved the maze and emerged after almost 6 miles of walking and 2 hours and 49 minutes.

The maze was a tribute to diversity and Vermont’s Snowflake Bentley.

Our track through the maze.

Harwood X-Country Meet

On Saturday i drove Jakobi and Kalypso to their cross country meet at harwood. They were both dreading it because of the notorious hills but lo and behold! They both did great. Jakobi looked strong throughout the race, beat her time on the much flatter U-32 course and came within 30 seconds of a PR!

WAY 2GO JAKOBI!!!!!
