Stephen Dube reached out to us this week and asked if we wanted to revive the Father’s Day Hike had been doing before COVID. He said Ijaeda was back home and wanted to do the hike and we all agreed it was a great idea! Gaelen and Heather were all in as well and on Sunday we met up at the Hunger Mountain trailhead at 1pm and commenced the hike!
It was a beautiful day, sunny but not hot and the forest was luscious and green with lots of ferns and small brooks as we made our way up to the large expanses of rock that contain the upper reaches of the hike just before the summit
We took a break just before the last push to gaze out over Worcester and the North Branch River Valley and try to spy our home.
We found Hobie and Little Hobie and the sunset meadow (yellow circle) at the top of Treehouse Hill which pinpointed our homestead location!

At the summit we relaxed and had some snacks and enjoyed the view picking out the Ben & Jerry’s Factory, the Zenbarn, and the Von Trapp Family Lodge. We could also see the Adirondacks of NY in the West and the White Mountains of NH in the East along with lake Champlain.
Afterwards we had a Father’s Day Dinner at Julio’s!
Vermont Mountaineers Baseball
The Mountaineer’s season has begun and after dinner Jakobi, Gaelen, Heather and I went to the game. It was the third game for Jakobi and me and the 2nd one this weekend!
Jakobi’s Spring Sport Social
On Monday Jakobi and the Girls Track team was honored for their 4th consecutive State Championship at U-32 along with all the other Spring sport teams! U-32 took three state titles; Boy’s Track and Girl’s Lacrosse being the other two championships. Jakobi earned her first Varsity letter as a Freshman!
Nora Jayne Krumperman Graduates High School!
Nora graduated from U-32 on Friday and we went to her graduation party on Saturday. It was held in Plainfield in a big beautiful timber-framed house with magnificent sweeping views of the Vermont countryside and mountains! Congratulations Nora!!!
