We had a super busy weekend so we have a few things to get through before we get to the PARTY!
Gaelen & Heather Move In!
First up on Thursday Gaelen and Heather moved into the treehouse. Heather has a job with the State of Vermont and they will be staying with us through November as long as they can deal with the rustic life of off-grid treehouse dwelling. They had their first taste of it as our Inverter/charger stopped charging and I had to jury rig a way to power the house bypassing it until we get a new charger! We are so happy to have them here with us!
U-32 High School Art Show
On Friday Jakobi’s High School had its Spring Art show in the school atrium and we all went and checked out the student work. Jakobi was showiung this painting of a waterfall we hiked to in Iceland!
Ambiana & Jakobi look over Jakobi’s Freshman Year Yearbook which also arrived on Friday! There was some drama because we forgot to order one and there was some fear she would not get one but the school had extras and she was able to get one and fill it with signings from her many friends
Worcester Arts Festival

On Saturday Ambiana performed three songs that she wrote while away on her trip at the Worcester Arts Fest held on the Ladd Field in Worcester. It was fun to go down and be her roadies and support her and to see all the great art made by the residents of Worcester
Wiki & Beany’s Crazy Big Party
And finally on Sunday we had the BIG PARTY! It was the most people we have ever had over at our place and in the Long House. Ambiana (Beany) and Erika (Wiki) worked really hard on it and had a veritable museum and workshop about their eight month odyssey around the globe. There was great food and two very impressive events!
The first was a backpack race to catch the train while carrying Wiki and Beany’s 55 pound backpacks.
Beany’s Parents: 1 minute and 7 seconds
Wiki’s Parents: 1 minute and 14 seconds
Beany’s Sister and Clara : 55 seconds
Thomas and Theo: 44 Seconds. Gabe and his friend who are hiking the Long Trail and came off it to join the party ran barefoot and won in 40 seconds!
Wiki & Beany caught the train it in 1 minute 6 seconds!
Watch Wiki and Beany Run!
The second awesome event was the multimedia production of their trip up in the Long House projected on the Big Screen with images, videos and musical performances! The audience of friends and family included everyone who joined Wiki and Beany somewhere on their trip and we were all spellbound and in awe of their presentation.
Check out one of their raps. You can view the others along with all the images and videos in the slideshow at the end of this post. Unfortunately I did not think to record their narration so I guess you had to be there! The show lasted just over 2 hours and included lots of audience participation and laughter. We are so proud of these young women and the community of friends and family they have surrounded and nourished themselves.
