Maple Syrup
We borrowed a sap evaporator from the McLanes and boild off our 20 gallons of sap one afternoon last week. It took 6 hours before we moved the boiling into the kitchen for the final boil.
We ended up with 2 quarts of syrup for a total of 1.5 gallons of syrup this season.
Micro-Hydro Update
I am putting in a micro-hydro system this spring which will generate 300 watts of power continuously.
I purchased a generator from Powerspout and assembled it on out kitchen table.
Here I am drilling holes in a 4″ piece of PVC pipe to serve as the intake
The intake spot. 90 feet above the generator to be connected with approximately 350 feet of flexible LDPE 2″ pipe
