Thursday
Thursday was another beautiful bluebird day on the slopes with Gaelen and Heather; temperatures in the high 30’s and little wind.
Jakobi was suffering from a headache and was a super trooper as she skied through it. There were more people on the mountain than Wednesday but not enough to make for long lines at the lifts.
Colleen went cross country skiing in the morning and met us at 2pm and Gaelen set her up with skis and I took her up the easy lift to the Green Circle runs. She was capable if not slow and we skied 2 runs to finish out the day.
Jakobi went back to the condo to rest as she was still not feeling well and the rest of us took the gondola up to the lodge on top for Apres Ski Sunset.
We ate an appetizer dinner, danced to the duo playing acoustic Grateful Dead covers and enjoyed the sunset with Gaelen & Heather.
We then hit the tubing runs for “Cosmic Tubing” which was super fast and fun before joining Jakobi back at the condo for movie night where we watched “Frozen”, not the Elsa & Anna Disney one but one made in 2009 about a trio that gets stuck on a chairlift overnight and ends up being devoured by wolves.
Friday
On Friday we we’re skied out so after we checked out of the condo we went to Gaelen & Heather’s condo and hung out there for the afternoon.
Jakobi wanted to play Monopoly ( her and Gaelen have enjoyed playing it since they were little) so we settled into a game. I played as a Socialist and didn’t buy any properties which didn’t end well. After 3 hours Jakobi bankrupted Gaelen and was the winning oligarch.
After the game we went to early dinner at Gaelen’s favorite restaurant; The Smoke House and then tried to go tubing again but it was sold out ☹️. We returned to Gaelen & Heather’s condo and sat in their hot tub for a bit before saying goodbye and heading out over the pass to Denver as the sun set.
