…the christmas tree….
On Sunday we hiked up our land behind the Winter House and found the tree we had tagged last week and after thanking and honoring the tree, we took turns on the saw to bring it down.
We then carried down to the Long House and set it up in the SE Corner. Colleen had found a Christmas tree stand a month or so ago in a free pile on the side of the road and it came in handy.
…the winter tree…
We also celebrated the Winter Solstice by stringing popcorn and cranberries and smearing peanut butter on pine cones and rolling them in bird seed.
I thanked another tree from a congested grove of smaller pines and cut it down and set it up in our yard. I used a concrete block and some bricks hidden under a pile of snow to keep it upright. We then strung the popcorn-cranberry strings and peanut butter birdseed cones on the trees to nourish the birds and forest critters though the dark night.
…the pond rink…
Jakobi and Ambiana shoveled a skating rink on the pond.
