Cape Cod 2022

We spent a week in Wellfleet on Cape Cod in one of a a pair of cottages with Daniel, Elena and Flora. We were a few miles from the beach but out our door we were able to run or bike to the bay and several trails along the salt marshes. The beach at Newcomb Hollow was beautiful, the water a deep blue and cold and refreshing in the heat. Unfortunately there were lots of seals and lots of sharks which made swimming a risky and nervous affair. The wind reduced our shelter to a lean-to and unlike SC we did not spend every day at the beach sometimes just showing up late afternoon for a walk or at sunset for the beauty.

On Wednesday we joined the Hollisters for a 3 hour whale watch tour out of Provincetown. We had spent the previous evening walking the streets of Provincetown among all the tourists, drag queens and member of the LGBQT community. It was a lively night with lots of great people watching going on. The whale watch was fun and we found lots of fin whales close to shore plus a humpback mother and her calf. It was fun to be out on the water among the cetaceans even though we were probably harassing them.

Unfortunately my SLR camera malfunctioned and erased all the P-Town pictures I had taken plus ones of us enjoying the cabin. We went on some nice runs on the trails and by the marshes and enjoyed ice cream and gelato in Wellfleet. It was a chill week relaxing and enjoying the Cape. We usually just come and camp near a beach for a weekend so it was nice to get out and see more of the Cape then just the ocean and the campground.

On Friday Jayme, Billy, Lee Lee and Orlando came down to the Cape and spent the day with us swimming at a Kettle Pond then we all had dinner together before they drove to Hyannis port for the nigh.
