Fall color has arrived here in Central Vermont. This past weekend was pure Autumnal Splendor.
Three Pond Paddle
On Friday Colleen and I woke up and paddled the Three Pond Loop right out our door.
We start in our pond and pass through the grass to Secret Pond which is not another pond but a hidden cove.

We then pull out and portage about 200 yards through the woods and marshland to Middle Pond which we paddle across and into the strait between Middle Pond and Worcester Pond.
The strait is a series of narrow beaver ponds and channels separated by about 10 small narrow beaver dams. We paddle over these and Colleen has a novel approach to doing so; check out the video.
After the dams we portage around a small waterfall and then paddle out of the woods into Worcester Pond.
Worcester Pond is very shallow and full of lily pads and surrounded by beautiful foilage.
After paddling around Worcester Pond we pull out on our neighbors property and walk the mile home retrieving the kayaks with the truck. Paddling back over the beaver dams is too much work.
Tree House Hill
Climbing Tree House Hill across the creek is like entering a cathedral of trees on a sunny autumn afternoon. Jakobi sits up her to get a cell signal and download books and text her friends.
It is never more beautiful than now!
The Pond
I spent hours over the weekend paddling in a world of color on the pond.

2022 Woods Trail Run Thetford VT
Ambiana ran her 3rd cross country meet of the year at Thetford, She didn’t feel well and her time reflected it but she runs for fun not to win so overall it was a win for her to be with her teammates on such a beautiful day on a fun course designed exclusively for a cross country race. Check out the results
After the race the team met up at Addy’s house in Middlesex, ate pasta and had a 2 hour dance party!
