We have had a week of temperatures in the 70’s, Ambiana started Track at U-32 (pictured above heading out to her 1st practice!) Jakobi has her State Gymnastic Competition, Colleen is boiling sap and I am starting on the sauna. Winter sure was short and it feels like we are a month ahead of where we were the last few years at this time in April.
Construction Update : Sauna
I built the deck for the sauna. On Saturday I poured concrete in the concrete block footers and framed up the deck on Sunday.
It is 12′ x 8′ framed with 2″ x 6″ hemlock joists spaced 24″ on center with R23 6″ Rockwool insulation beneath a deck of 1″ x 8′ x 8′ hemlock boards.
The Sauna itself will have an interior of 7′ 8″ x 8′ with a 4′ x 8′ covered porch.
Ambiana worked on the dam to create the plunge pool in the creek!
