Day 1: Red Sox vs. Blue Jays
On Jakobi’s 1st full day as a 12 year old she came down with me to Boston in the Farmers To You truck and helped out at both the Lexington and Arlington pick up sites. We then drove the truck to Cambridge Morse Elementary school and parked it and got on our bikes to ride the Esplanade Bike Path to Fenway Park to see the Sox play the Jays!
We sat in the last row of the right field bleachers, The weather was cloudy all day and drizzly before the start of the game but the rain held off and the game was played.
Unfortunately the Sox fell behind 4-0 in the 1st 2 innings and by the 5th it was 9-0. We had planned on sleeping in the back of the truck if the game was good but it wasn’t so we left after the 5th and drove back to Vermont getting home at 2AM!
It was fun to be in Fenway among all the fans and even though they lost BIG we had a good time. But we’ll be back as this 18 days of fun winds up on August 15th with an afternoon game against the Orioles with Christine, Nora, Levi and Gaelen joining us!
