Acadia Road trip

I spent the weekend in Maine car camping at Acadia National Park where I hiked the Pinnacle Trail and sat by the sea!

On Sunday I headed south to the Shaker Village to attend a Shaker service which was not at all like the movie “The Terstament of Ann Lee” I was a little disappointed but not surprised.

“Smalltown” Musical

The reason for the trip was to see the musical “Smalltown” based on the songs of John Cougar Melloncamp at the Olguquit Playhouse.

I knew it wasn’t good when I had the worst seat in the house shoved way off to the right in the front row with 1/2 the stage blocked from view. And it wasn’t very good…the songs were great but the story they cobbled together was too woke with a Latino Diane and a privileged Jack and a polluting factory. Still it was semi enjoyable and the actress who played Diane’s younger sister was amazing plus they had 2 lesbian farmers who were played by some broadway legends I had never heard of.

Wreck on the way home 🙁

On the way home sun glare made for a treachorous situation and before I could take defensive action I was hit from behind and saw a car go past me on the left upside down, It was horrific, i was sure the driver was dead but she walked away. In fact no one was hurt but our cars. Mine was totaled and after spending 2 hours at the scene had to wait for Colleen to come pick me up. Not the way I wanted to end my weekend.
