Chicks
We got 11 new chicks in the house under a heat lamp that is on 24/7 and powered by our hydro power which maintains our batteries at 100% at the same time!
Construction Update
This is what the deck looks like after all the snow melted away, tons of water on the tarp sunk between the joists, so the first order of business was to get the water off.
Then I laid down the boards we milled from our white pine last fall.

All the boards are now nailed in place.
Now comes the fun part, laying out the posts and beams and cutting the posts to 8′ heights.
Neighbor Neal and me took down a hemlock and I fashioned it into w 20 foot long beam to support the 2nd floor of our long house. The bark came off real easy, you can see the stump in the background
On the Homestead
Ambiana took a friend’s jeep for a spin.
We celebrated Mothers day Sunday with some Sundaes
