OPENING DAY AT FENWAY 2007

GAME 7: RED SOX vs. MARINERS

Momma, Patti me and my BU Alum friend Roberta Fusaro went to Fenway Park on Tuesday for Opening Day. It was cold, in the 40's with a blustery wind but we dressed warm for it. We met up at Who's on First before taking our seats at the top of the Grandstand behinf 1st Base. The latest Fenway addition is a beer garden placed right behind our seats. It's amazing how much space they keep adding to this park.

DiceK, Big Papi and Johnny Pesky got the biggest ovations during the inroductions.

Josh Becket pitched masterfully only allowing 2 hits over 7 innings as the Sox scored 4 in the 1st, 3 in the 2nd and 1 in the 3rd. By the time it was over it was 14-3, all 3 runs allowed by Mike Timlin who thank God is not our closer.

Momma brought her Yaz shirt to honor Yaz as the 1967 Impossible Dream Team was honored after the player introductions. Harry Connick Jr. sand "God Bless America" and for some reason no national anthem was sung unless the Patriot Act made "God Bless America" our national anthem unbeknownst to any of us.

It was a fun game with all those runs. Varitek had 3 hits and Drew homered in his Fenway debut.
