I turned 56 today at 1:38pm, the girls sang to me in the car as we headed into town to do our Monday errands. The celebration started on Thursday when Amelia my site host in Lexington & Arlington gave me a pint of Coconut Chocolate Ice Cream for my birthday. On Saturday we had a party from 6pm till midnight. Pizza and a fire down below then when dark set in a 2 hour rockin’ dance party up at the Long House. The Laxers, The Hathaways, Mark Powell, Christine, Holly, Anders, Yarrow and Daniel all came and a good time was had by all despite the best efforts of the bugs to bug us all!
Jakobi was honored on Saturday for her year in Gymnastics and was awarded 3 medals; a participation one, 6th in beam and 8th all around at States!
Construction Update: Sauna
I spent my birthday weekend making a door for the sauna out of 1 x 8’s and 2 X 4’s and cedar on the inside. In addition I made a stained glass window for the door in shades of red, orange and yellow.
The sauna is to be named Hale O Pele (House of Pele) and the window is Mauna Loa Volcano on the Big Island of Hawai’i where Pele resides.
