Horseneck Beach w/ Debbie

We spent the last weekend in August at Horseneck Beach in Massachusetts with Debbie, Hayden and Spencer. We drove down Friday after school and arrived during a mega thunderstorm. Thankfully it cleared out fast and we were able to set up camp in a rain free environment.

The next day was sunny and hot. The campground has e.coli in it’s wells so the bathrooms were closed and we had to bike 1 mile to one that was open that had water we could drink and cook with.

We spent the morning eating breakfast, biking and hanging out around camp before going to the beach in the afternoon.

The modified shelter works well, the beach was a bit rocky but the waves were the best we’ve had all summer; long braking swells that were a dream to body surf as they carried you a long way. Colleen and I perfected WaveBall where you catch the ball as you are catching the wave!

Relaxing on the beach

After an afternoon at the beach we went to dinner at the Bayside. We had a 45 minute wait so we hiked the trails to the Salt Marsh.

We sat outdoors and had yum food for dinner. It was really nice to see Debbie and the boys and hang out with them even though it was a short trip. We left on Sunday around noon after making breakfast and packing up camp. Colleen and I have decided we like Horseneck Beach the best off all the beaches we have visited since April. It is not too warm like S.C and you can swim without fear of sharks unlike the Cape. The waves were the best, the rocks on the shore are pretty. The campground is pretty lame but that’s not why we are there.
