We have been on the land for a year now. And today my project was the same as a year ago as I built a second compost pile as the one I built in 2011 is a 4′ wide by 4′ thick by 6′ high years supply of humanure!.
I cut dead fall for the posts and salvaged some moldering mossy boards found in the woods for the sides and made it 5′ x 5′ this time so i don’t have to hoist the bucket so high next March and April.
Jakobi is our egg gatherer. I love to see her with basket in hand heading out to the coop to check for eggs.
Our chickens have discovered they can eat their eggs so it is truly a race!
Lee and I laid the pipe for the hydro power 10 days ago…more on that later.
We went to Boston this past weekend and ran the Doyle’s 5 miler in Jamaica Plain. Ambiana hung with Grandma and Colleen and me with Jakobi in the jogger ran the race. I delayed my start until the pack was 1/2 a mile ahead and then started so i could run without dodging and it paid off. I busted out 7 minute miles and took 6 minutes off my best time (39:42) and Grandma says I was the first jogger stroller to finish!
