GAME 30: RED SOX vs. TWINS

Afternoon game...listened while manning our tag sale to a static-filled broadcast from an AM station as the local Sox affiliate has been having broadcast issues with lots of gaps and dead air. The Sox jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead on a J.D. Drew double in the 1st and kept adding a run at a time as Schilling pitched well. Continued to listen while packing up the tag sale and loading the canoe on the car and driving Colleen, Gaelen, Ambiana and me to the Mill Pond in Easthampton for an afternoon paddle. The Sox had just finished the top of the 7th and were ahead 4-0 when we turned off the radio to go a'paddlin!

We had a nice scenic lazy muck filled paddle and I was surprised an hour later when loading the canoe back on the car that the game was still on. We listened as Pap got the 3rd out on a slice to Lowell notching his 10th save and winning the game for the Sox 4-3 . The recap filled in the blanks. Schilling gave up 2 runs in the 7th. Okajima came in an allowed one of Schilling's runners to score and then got the 3rd out and pitched a scoreless 8th setting up Pap for the 9th. We'll take it, 1st series win in Minnesota since 2001...wow!
