GAME 44: RED SOX vs. YANKEES

We listened to the beginning of this one out in the backyard with the radio hanging from the clothesline as Gaelen and I played some baseball ourselves. Wake left a high knuckleball hanging in the bottom of the 1st and A-Rod blasted it out to left field. I knew we were in trouble when Youk struck out in the top of the 2nd with bases loaded:( and then Giambi hit a solo homer in the bottom of the 2nd when Wake hung anothr knuckler:(

Big Papi drove in both Red Sox runs as the Sox squandered a plethora of scoring opportunities. Here he is sliding into second with a RBI scoring double. In addition to Youk, Lugo, Manny and Drew all came up short when a big hit was needed.

The Sox lost 6-2 but are still 9.5 games ahead of the Yanks and even though Johnny Damon is a Yankee we will ALWAYS love him for helping the Sox win it all in 2004!
