GAME 21: RED SOX vs. ORIOLES

Gaelen and I listened to the beginnings of this one together on the Red Sox Porch. The Sox fell behind 2-0, but Becket was pitching well and kept the Sox close. Lowell knocked one in in the 6th and then in the 8th the Sox loaded the bases and up came Wily Mo who has struck out like 15 of the last 27 at bats. He did hit the ball well in his previous at bat for a double and there is always the chance he could blast one and that is exactly what happened giving the Sox a 5-2 lead. Becket pitched a 1-2-3 8th and then Paplebon notched his 5th save to go along with Becket's 5-0 record, best in the Majors and putting him up there with Pedro and the Babe both of whom have gone 5-0 in April for the Sox.
