GAME 14: RED SOX vs. BLUE JAYS

Ambiana and I were napping when I suddenly realized it was a day game for the red Sox today. I turned on the radio and it was 7th inning stretch time with the Sox trailing 3-1. Outside the clouds had given way to sun and we took it out on the Red Sox porch which was finally warm for a game! In the bottom of the 8th Manny hit a 2 run homer to tie the game and daddy did a little dance and Ambiana stood up on the chair and cheered along with me!. Bottom of the 8th Timlin got out of a jam with a fine double play 1-6-3 with a nice turn by shortstop Alex Cora!

Score tied 3-3 top of the 9th, Hinski walks is forced out at 2nd by a bad bunt from Pedroia. Lugo comes in to run for the 2nd baseman and Cora scores him with a clutch triple and scores himself on a sacrifice fly by Coco. Sox lead 5-3 going into the bottom of the 9th and out of the pen comes Paplebon. First time all season he works back to back games. He walks the 1st batter he faces, strikes out the next two and then has a classic duel with Rios who finally flies out to right-center to end the game. Tavarez started the game and got a no decision, the 1st time a this season the starting pitcher for the Sox didn't get a decision. Timlin gets the win and Pap his 5th save. He's pitched 5.1 innings, walked 2, allowed 1 hit and has 11 K's. The Yankees come to Fenway tomorrow for a 3 game weekend series! I'll be at the local dive to watch this one!
