San Francisco

We landed in San Francisco at 5:39am just a day over 6 months since we left California in October. Ambiana slept most of the plane ride while I got maybe 2 hours of sleep. We caught a SamTrans bus into the city. Colleen's plan was to store our bags at the bus station and spend the day in the city but as we rode n amongst the city streets and the miles and miles of concrete and skyscrapers she changed her mind. It was just as well as the bus station didn't have any lockers and it would have cost us $8 to store our bags.

We exchanged our bus tickets from San Diego for ones from San Fran, I had called Greyhound from Hawai'i and explained our situation and they were most gracious and accommodating. We had an hour before our bus and we headed out into the city to find a grocery store for some breakfast. We found a Safeway and ate our breakfast in the shadow of the Transamerica Pyramid.
Ambiana's 1st Greyhound Trip

In the past, before Colleen, before I owned a car, Greyhound was my choice of transport and I have made many trips on the dog bus, from coast to coast and north to south, and I was happy to share this experience with my two lovies:)

It was a 10 hour 50 minute trip down the coast of California. Ambiana again slept most of the way awaking an hour or so before sunset as we came into San Luis Obispo and enjoyed the sunset seaview coast from there to Santa Barbara.
Camarillo

Uncle Mike picked us up in Oxnard at 8:30pm and brought us home to Camarillo thus completing our circle begun last October. We slept for 12 hours awaking at 11am and are now in the process of re-acquainting ourselves with our car and all our possessions left in her these past 6 months. A tire is flat, the battery is dead and she needs to be registered in Cali and insured. We will be here through the weekend and are planning on heading the Phoenix to visit Colleen's friend Stacey early next week...headin' homeward :)
