We are set to arrive in Hawai’i at 8:40pm on January 9th, Ben and his wife Carolina are going to pick us up and the plan is to camp at McKenzie State Park in Puna and hit the warm ponds the next morning and Kehena Beach later in the day before heading over the volcano to out Ohana in Na’alehu.
Arrival
It was a long day getting to Hawai’i. Here we are cruising through the LA airport after being re-united as Colleen and jakobi flew to LA via Las Vegas from Chicago while Ambiana and I flew direct. Then we all got on the plane in LA for the flight to Hilo. No dinner, no movie, just 5 hours in the air. Ben and Carolina were waiting for us and had a mini van full of balloons to celebrate Ambiana’s 6th Birthday!
We drove to Puna and Mckenzie State Park where we set up our tents in the moonlight and stretched out into a deep sleep. Ambiana and I woke up first and headed down to the cliffs to look out over the sea, we then went backto the tent to wake up Mommy and Jakobi for the sunrise.
