5 Days in Phoenix

We left California on Tuesday and drove to Stacey's in Phoenix, or rather Tempe. Ambiana was excited to be back in her car seat after months of riding with a seatbelt on. She is a much better traveller now and Mommy actually got to drive for 3 hours while I sat in back with her.

In Phoenix we have mostly been hanging out by the pool. We got some arm floaties for Ambiana but she rather Hippo wear them. Colleen is not liking being back in America with all the restrictions that come with being here. At the Mall Ambiana was running Nakie Butt through a sprinkler/fountain for kids when Security approached and made her cover her nakedness. That really made Colleen mad.

Today we got up at 5:30am and ran a 4.2 mile race benefitting Pat Tillman's leadership foundation. He was an Arizona State and Phoenix Cardinal football player who left the NFL to join the Army after 9/11 abd was killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan in 2004. 15,000 folk turned out to run and it was a fun race ending in the Sun Devil football stadium on the 42 yard line (Tillman wore #42 at ASU) with lots of goodies afterwards.

Ambiana entered the Kids Run (.42 miles) and ran her first race and was very proud of her number. We went out to eat with Stacey tonight and tommorrow we probably head north to Colorado and a week of WWOOFing at the Oasis in Paonia :)
