Red Sox take 2 of 3 from Rays

The red Sox finally won a series against the Rays taking 2 of 3 over the weekend at Fenway. The Sox won Friday 7-3 behind a good outing from Brad Penny and another 6th inning 3 run homer by Jason Bay. Manny who??? That trade in the light of manny's 50game suspension is the best move the Sox could have made last year.

Saturday the Sox got clobbered 14-5 as Lester continues to struggle. I only listened to the beginning of this one as we were at a Beltain Celebration in Brookfield.

Sunday: Beckett vs. Garza, neither pitcher got a decision as it was tied 3-3 when both pitchers left the game. Ortiz almost hit one out to left in the bottom of the 8th and ended up on 2nd base, advanced to third on a wild pitch and came home on Jason Bay's RBI double off the Wall. Bay now has 34 RBI, 2nd in the AL. Pap got into his usual jam in the 9th with runners on 1st and 3rd with no outs but jams only seem to ratchet up his game as he struck out Pena, Upton and Crawford to seal the victory and record his 8th save. He also walked his 8th batter matching his season total from last year.
