The Oasis

We arrived at the Oasis on Monday evening negotiating a steep deeply rutted dirt road to the middle of a canyon. Here is the home of Wind and Djon and their part time kids. It is pretty and there are gardens and we stayed 3 nights but only worked 1 afternoon as Wind and Djon are both busy with other activities.

Ambiana liked the drum set in the house and played it everyday. They are nice hippy-ish folks and we were glad to meet them but since we were stuck in the canyon since we didn't want to drive that road anymore than we had to and because we also wanted to check out Paonia which was still 20 miles away we left on Thursday. Now we are in Paonia and are going to camp outside of town for a night or two and then head to Fairplay to visit my brother Tony.
