I spent the weekend in Maine car camping at Acadia National Park where I hiked the Pinnacle Trail and sat by the sea!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Sunday I headed south to the Shaker Village to attend a Shaker service which was not at all like the movie “The Terstament of Ann Lee” I was a little disappointed but not surprised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The reason for the trip was to see the musical “Smalltown” based on the songs of John Cougar Melloncamp at the Olguquit Playhouse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I knew it wasn’t good when I had the worst seat in the house shoved way off to the right in the front row with 1\/2 the stage blocked from view. And it wasn’t very good…the songs were great but the story they cobbled together was too woke with a Latino Diane and a privileged Jack and a polluting factory. Still it was semi enjoyable and the actress who played Diane’s younger sister was amazing plus they had 2 lesbian farmers who were played by some broadway legends I had never heard of.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
