My milk delivery routes this week were absolutely stunning; I could have rented out the passenger seat in the truck and it would have made a pretty impressive leaf-peeper tour. After 2 weeks of a mostly empty homestead it was nice to have it filled with voices and people!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.mochiandcolleen.com\/images\/2026\/OCTOBER\/cider2.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center\">Hatch Quarry Fossil Hunt<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.mochiandcolleen.com\/images\/2026\/OCTOBER\/fossil5.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>On Sunday i drove out past Vergennes for my second field trip with the urlington gem &amp; Mineral Club. This time we were hunting crinoids, brachipods and gastropods fossils laid down on the seafloor of the Iapetus Ocean 450 million years ago. Tectonic activity has since thrust this ancient ocean bed up over the younger rocks all the way to the shore of lake Champlain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.mochiandcolleen.com\/images\/2026\/OCTOBER\/fossil1.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>I found lots of crinoids and a few gastropods and came home with another big box of rocks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.mochiandcolleen.com\/images\/2026\/OCTOBER\/fossil2.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Gastropod<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.mochiandcolleen.com\/images\/2026\/OCTOBER\/fossil3.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.mochiandcolleen.com\/images\/2026\/OCTOBER\/fossil4.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">Coral<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"has-text-align-center\">Meanwhile in Greece&#8230;<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.mochiandcolleen.com\/images\/2026\/OCTOBER\/greece4.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Colleen spent her last days alone and came across this ancient bathhouse&#8230;. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.mochiandcolleen.com\/images\/2026\/OCTOBER\/greece2.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&#8230;before meeting up with Stacey in Athens&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.mochiandcolleen.com\/images\/2026\/OCTOBER\/greece3.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\">&#8230;where they toured the Pathenon&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img src=\"http:\/\/www.mochiandcolleen.com\/images\/2026\/OCTOBER\/greece1.JPG\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8230;and then met up with Ann and Debbie to start their weeklong celebration of the 50th year birthdays!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This past weekend was peak color here in Central Vermont.
