My mother was hospitalized with Covid19 a few weeks ago. It never progressed to far with her and after some oxygen and a week or so in the hospital she was discharged. She lives in an assisted living facility called Pathways outside of Bozeman Montana near where my sister Katie lives. Katie kept us appraised of her condition and progress. We were all relieved when she was released from the hospital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pathways only has 9 residents. All of them caught Covid at the same time and 6 were hospitalized. I believe they all recovered and since the entire population contracted it Katie is now allowed to visit in person. Last week Gamma was re-admitted to the hospital with a blood clot in her lung and put on oxygen. Her condition stabilized and she was released still on supplemental oxygen. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

She is back home at Pathways and Katie has discussed palliative care with her caregivers. Gamma continues to hold her own and feels good now that she is back home. Meanwhile back here in Vermont Covid cases are up averaging more than 100 cases a day. While this is way less than other states it is higher now than it was at the beginning of the pandemic for us. The county we live in had the most reported cases (40) yesterday. The governor has banned all multi family gatherings limiting us socializing to our households. Schools are still open as are activities such as gymnastics and dance. The governor recognizes that kids are not driving this second surge but rather it is small groups of people gathering together. They noted that this surge comes two weeks after Halloween gatherings and coincides with the start of hunting season when people spend time together in hunting camps. Please wear a mask and maintain 6 feet of social distancing, wash your hands and do not gather together in groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After 6 months my bathroom wall tile installation is complete. I glazed the 4 pie piece tiles on Wednesday and they were fired the next day. I picked them up on Sunday and placed them in the circle. I needed to trim all 4 tiles to fit which I did with a grinder and a masonry grinding wheel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I got the second Allman-Betts Band album ‘Bless Your Heart’ this week and it is just as good as the first one. They are my new favorite band. I even threw hope to the wind and bought Colleen and me two tickets to see them in Boston in July as part of the Rise of the South Tour with Blackberry Smoke and two other bands. It’s being held at the same outdoor pavilion we saw Van Morrison at two years ago. I am hopeful that by July 22nd of 2021 this event will be able to be held. It is an outdoor venue so there is that going for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
