3 Minutes of Ya

Some highlights of Ambiana last week!

I have been busy busy busy at work so I apologize for the lack of updates. To check out what i have been learning and doing check out the WOOT SHIRT ARCHIVE I built the site in HTML and have been applying the CSS, PHP and MYSQL skills I have been learning to it so that all data is stored in databases and the pages are loaded with PHP. I am taking a course in Database design at Champlain College once a week. It is fun to be back in school and I am amazed at how computerized college has become in the 20+ years since I was at BU. Back then MS-DOS was the primo operating system. Everything now is online, computers are on every desk and student's surf Facebook instead of paying attention to the lecture.

Gaelen has been with us the last 2 weekends. He is going through a difficult time and we are not sure what we can do to help him, the root of the problem is that he has 2 families and he is having a hard time reconciling the two. He says he does not like visiting us and then having to leave so soon. We don't like this either but that is the REALITY of the situation.

We do have fun when he is here, especially playing in the snow but the weekend goes by so fast. We experimented with having him visit 2 weekends and then staying home for 2 weekends in a row but he says he does not like this any better.

In other news we got 2 cats last week. They are brother and sister, 4 years old and we have not sen them in over a week. They hide out beneath our cabinets and come out to play, eat and poo when we are sleeping. Cats are very strange animals and we are hoping in time they will emerge. Ambiana says the house is pregnant with cats and soon will give birth to them.

I enjoyed the Super Bowl last Sunday at Cara and Donald's house. They are playgroup friends of Ambiana who have a 3 year old son named Callum. Cara is also pregnant with their 2nd child due around the same time Jacoby is due.

We had 20 new inches of snow 2 weeks ago and it finally got up above freezing this weekend. One of Daniel's horses died on Saturday and I spent Sunday morning helping him and 3 other guys drag her out of the stable and bury her under 5 feet of snow to preserve her until spring when the ground thaws so we can bury her in the earth.
