Thanksgiving RoadTrip

We decided to go to Chicago for the Thanksgiving Holiday to see our family and friends and to bring back to Vermont some more of our stuff stored in Chicago. Gaelen went with us and we picked him up at school on Tuesday afternoon and drove through light snow and rain to the Scahills in NY where we were greeted with warmth and chili by Jan and Bill.

The next day was the long leg, 7 hours in the car through more snowy weather to Toledo to my Dad's where my Mom is also staying to take care of him. He is in better health and was out walking the dog when we arrived after stopping at the grocery store to pick up ingredients for the Custard Pumpkin Square dessert I am making for the Kutin Thanksgiving meal as well as the new Guns N' Roses CD 17 years in the making! Momma made a meatloaf which Gaelen liked and a Baked Alaska Dessert which everyone but Patti and Colleen loved.

Thursday we drove straight to Aunt Karen's for the Tday Feast. There were 18 guests including us as well as Lindsey's husband Ryan and his parents and sister. Gaelen loved the hours he got to play Playstation as well as the 2 football games. My dessert was not a big hit, the Kutin's, i fear, are still weary lest they eat another compost pie even though this pumpkin came from a can. It was great to see everyone and we enjoyed our brief visit

Great Grandma and Ambiana
On Friday we went to visit Grandma Kris and Bill and Melissa and Matt. Gaelen was way excited to play the Nintendo Wii game but he also enjoyed the game of touch football we played at the park and even scored a running touchdown. Great-Grandma Shirley and Great Grandpa Jack came over for pizza dinner

We spent time with Grampy Jim on both Friday and Saturday mornings as we packed up the car with our stuff.

We drove back to Toledo for another night with my mom and dad and then onto the Scahills on Sunday and on Monday night we dropped Gaelen off at his Mom's. It was a crazy fast trip, we spent at least 6 hours in a car everyday but Friday and everyone but Colleen came down with a cold but it was nice to visit everyone and to bring back home more of our stuff.

It was also really nice to be able to spend a week with Gaelen. He enjoyed all the people we visited, seeing them again as he had met them during his Chicago trip with us in June. And they were also happy to see him again.
